God is ZEALOUS--He works with ardent fervor to accomplish His purposes. This is the opposite of lazy, complacent and detached. God is devoted, diligent and intense.
Isaiah 26:11
LORD, your hand is lifted high, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people and be put to shame; let the fire reserved for your enemies consume them.
Isaiah 37:32
For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Ezekiel 39:25
Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will now restore the fortunes of Jacob and will have compassion on all the people of Israel, and I will be zealous for my holy name.

thank you for the AZ inspiration... i am teaching the attributes of God to my kids and this goes with it powerfully!
Thank you for your comment, Heidi! I sometimes feel guilty for spending as much time blogging as I do. Lately I've been praying that God would make my effort come to some good use, that it would not be a waste and I should have just quit and spent more time cleaning instead. If He has blessed you, my prayer has been answered.
Thank you so much for these attributes of God. I had been working on a list in my head at night when sleep eludes me or when I am driving and want to stay focused on God. This is a great help and I will refer to it often. Blessings to you!
I so appreciate this. Our sermon challenge yesterday was to pick an attribute a day and dwell on it. This certainly helps, especially with the Scripture. How blessed your children are that you are providing this blog. Diana Brown
Thank you for your kind comments. To God be the glory.
Thank you for this input...just got off our 5:30 AM prayerline where we are discussing
and working through Kay Arthur's Lord Teach me to Pray... and I wondered what are God's other attributes not listed in the book and WOW your blog filled the bill...
I am adding your suggestions to my prayer book. You have helped me move closer to
Him in my prayer life! THANK YOU!
Welcome, Theresa! Thank you for your comments. I always hope and sometimes pray that people will be blessed to grow closer to God through studying His attributes. Please come back and visit often.
