Words of hope

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness . . .
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ the solid rock I stand,
all other ground is sinking sand.
 (From the hymn, On Christ the Solid Rock, by Edward Mote)

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
 (From the hymn, Great is Thy Faithfulness)

Behold, God is my helper;
 the Lord is the upholder of my life.
     ~Psalm 54:4 (ESV)
