We are created in His image, and Jesus was clothed in flesh and dwelt among us, but God quite different from us... more so than we often realize.<br /><br />Thinking that God is just like us can lead to mistakes. In Psalm 50:21, God says that we thought He was altogether like us, and He rebukes us for it. When we start to attribute human motivations and reactions to the character of God, we can really start to slip in our perception of who He is.<br /><br />Contemplating things like God's omniscience, His omnipresence (in both time and space) and His omnipotent control over the entire universe can help to guard us from error. Although we won't fully grasp these ideas until we get to heaven, at least knowing that there are attributes of God which we cannot grasp can help to keep our minds focused in the right direction.ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15293058709021665140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394593369099711178.post-82640086267541251112009-05-22T10:22:13.098-04:002009-05-22T10:22:13.098-04:00Interesting what you said about looking at things ...Interesting what you said about looking at things in terms of linear time. I think many people think God is moving through time right along with us. It is hard to wrap one's mind around the fact that for God there is no future but that what is future for us is already happening from God's perspective.Hope T.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07861626818618433758noreply@blogger.com
