Sean had been to school last week for four days, had two late n ights and is home today (and I asuspect for the next couple of days too) with a cold, very sore throat and of course his asthma has kicked in. I have him in the sitting room in his pj's, on the sofa with the fire lit and minding him for the day. There's not much elas I can do but be here and comfort him a bit.

Thanks for your visit Ruth. Good to hear from you.Ruth MacChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14591616568622752136noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394593369099711178.post-73305503936837522882011-01-19T13:04:49.303-05:002011-01-19T13:04:49.303-05:00Yes, she does feel better. I've never heard of that, but it is certainly worth trying.

I doubt if she can get coconut water in the little PA farm town where she is. She'll have to make do with water and Gatorade. :)Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11093621296828810512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6394593369099711178.post-14338966550891318902011-01-19T09:46:58.983-05:002011-01-19T09:46:58.983-05:00I find it so hard to carry the weight of everyone ...I find it so hard to carry the weight of everyone in the family. Maybe that is not what is actually happening but it certainly feels like I am carrying everyone, even when they are "grown-up" (my oldest is officially an adult now but it does not end). It is exhausting.

I can identify somewhat with your daughter's troubles. I am a fainter, too (I've fainted in the craziest situations) and I have found something that helps when it comes to needles. When I have to have blood drawn, I put ice on my wrists. In the absence of ice, I find that holding my fingers in a cup of very cold water works, too. I try to do this while being as reclined as possible. This would work for IVs, too, IF I was not dehydrated. Trying to get an IV while dehydrated is just...well.. no words for that. I am glad your daughter did not have to do it.

I hope she is feeling much better today and that you are too. (Coconut water, which is different from coconut milk, is the best re-hydrating liquid ever!)Hope T.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07861626818618433758noreply@blogger.com
